Patriotic Garden

deming park     The Patriotic garden in Deming Park is the largest and probably best known of the six.   Brenda Kirchner and Beth Lutz are the co-bedkeepers and designers of this circular garden.   MG volunteers help Brenda and Beth on the big jobs.  The outer circle is a “Diablo” ninebark hedge that makes a great backdrop to a wide bed of “Knockout” roses, Russian sage, lamb’s ear, mums, ornamental grasses, etc. that are filled out with annuals and smaller plants.    A wide circular path separates these outer rings from the circular bed in the center which is planted with quadrants of red, white, and blue flowers mirroring the US flag flying from a center flagpole.
