Daily during the annual Vigo County 4-H fair, the Master Gardeners provide the materials, instructions, demonstrations and supervision to conduct:

*Afternoon Make and Take Projects

In conjunction with the Master Gardeners, other groups that helped make this possible were Purdue Extension, Terre Haute City Parks Department and Terre Haute North Vigo High School. Terre Haute North Vigo High School printed our fliers.

The Master Gardener fair committee started meeting in January to plan for the activities.  The activities are incorporated into programs for children and adults with garden related themes.

The making of stepping stones continues to be one of the most popular activities at the fair.  Master Gardeners mix the cement and help children of all ages decorate the stepping stones.  All materials are provided by the Wabash Valley Master Gardeners.  Over 320 stepping stones were made at the 2017 Vigo County Fair.

Painting hypertufa rocks gave making stepping stones a run for the most popular event sponsored by the Master Gardeners at the fair this year.  Making paper posies and flower arrangements were also make and take activities.

These activities are a fun learning experience for the community and make the fair an interesting place to visit. Every year we have more people that attend our sessions.
